WHO WE ARE

Butchers Pantry is the heart and soul of a lifelong journey in the food and beverage world. Sarah grew up surrounded by the rhythm of a busy kitchen—her parents owned a beloved restaurant, first in Flagstaff, Arizona and later in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Christian’s roots began in a steakhouse in Thousand Oaks, California, where he discovered the importance of quality ingredients and genuine hospitality. Food has shaped their stories from the very beginning.

Christian and Sarah first met in 2000—of course, in a restaurant—and married in 2004. Today, they are proud parents of two grown, handsome sons and continue to share a deep love for great food, community, and creating warm experiences for others. With decades of combined experience and a passion that runs in their veins, Butchers Pantry represents more than a business; it is a family-driven commitment to quality, service, and tradition.

Our Story

Christian’s passion for food began at just 13 years old, working in the fast-paced world of restaurant kitchens and learning early the importance of premium ingredients and consistent service. From running a kitchen in high school to advancing through every station of a high-volume steakhouse, he built a deep foundation in culinary technique and leadership. His career expanded into Italian cuisine—where fresh, made-to-order food reshaped his understanding of flavor and detail—and later into nearly a decade in Hawaii, where he gained a new appreciation for farm-to-table dining. After moving to Tucson, he joined several high-quality concepts, including the opening team at the Ritz-Carlton, and eventually stepped into the supplier side of the industry, helping chefs source exceptional meats, seafood, and specialty ingredients.

Sarah’s story began even earlier. She grew up in her parents’ restaurant and was helping by the age of five—clearing tables, greeting customers, and getting to know the regulars who felt like family. As she got older, she naturally gravitated into every role: cashier, hostess, delivery driver, server, and eventually manager. Later, in Kailua-Kona, she worked in high-end restaurants where her warm personality, strong work ethic, and love for serving people continued to shine. When she moved to Tucson 17 years ago, her first jobs were at The Steak Out and then Jax Kitchen, where she quickly found herself right back in the service industry she was made for.

Together, Christian and Sarah share decades of experience and a deep, genuine passion for food and hospitality. From early beginnings in family restaurants to high-end dining, farm-to-table kitchens, and premium ingredient sourcing, their paths have always led back to serving others with warmth, quality, and heart. Butchers Pantry is the natural next chapter—a place where their combined stories, values, and dedication to exceptional ingredients come together for the Tucson community they love.
